Below is a list of some of the roles that we are looking to fill on the Supporters’ Trust Board. The more volunteers we have, the more we can do. We are looking for people with all different skills, so if any of the roles don’t particularly suit, but you feel you have something to offer, please feel free to email us and we can arrange a chat.
All that we ask is that you are committed to the role you take on and are willing to get stuck in. Everyone applying for a role should also be a members of the Supporters’ Trust – so please make sure you’re signed up.

Role 1 - Board Member – Supporter Liaison
The Board Role of Supporter Liaison is to be the point of contact for our members and be an advocate of both Leeds United and the supporters, representing the interests of both sides and to solve and support any problems fans may face.
The Role
• To build relationships and contacts with key supporter networks at local and national levels and encourage collaborative working where relevant.
• Attend any fan and advisory meetings and any events organised by the Police, supporters’ groups and the club.
• Build a relationship with Leeds United Supporter Liaison Officer.
• Summarise any complaints from members and try to establish the circumstances and underlying reasons for these complaints and what the Trust can do to help solve.
• Attend and initiate meetings between supporters and club representatives and institutional representatives (police, stewards, FSA, local authorities, etc.), for example, with the aim of improving dialogue between the various parties – both proactively and reactively.
• Work with the comms board member to inform members about the latest developments when faced with relevant requests and concerns.
• Attend relevant national and regional meetings of the FSA that are relevant to the role (these are maybe once / twice a year)
• Provide key information for away games such as parking, pubs and any information relayed by the Police or the away club that would be useful for fans. Create similar information for the Trust website for LUFC home games for both home travelling supporters and away fans.
• Work closely with the Membership Board Member to attend supporter events to drive new members.
Expectations
• All board members will be asked to sign an NDA, Social Media Policy and adhere to the Trust code of practice when joining the board.
• This role will require approximately 20 hours per month
• It’s required that you attend a minimum of 8 monthly board meetings on a yearly basis & contribute to the discussions and decisions. (Some Face to Face / some zoom dependant on location)
• Contribute to subcommittees & advisory groups where appropriate.
• Support the wider team and participate in tasks and events as required over & above meetings.
• Respect the opinions of other board members and have a balanced view on issues. We are representatives or our members.
• Contribute to all Trust publications & reports as necessary.
• To declare any conflicts of interest as soon as they are known.
Role 2 - Board Role – Member Communication
The Board Role of member communications is to develop and implement regular communications to all Trust members through a variety of different channels – with the main focus of creating an engaging monthly newsletter working closely for content with other Board Members.
The Role
• Create and develop engaging content to our members with a monthly newsletter (1st of each month)
• Create ad hoc updates to members following any key club or Trust meetings
• Lead and create membership surveys as and when necessary to gauge feedback – such as pricing / club facilities etc and share findings with board members.
• Support Content Creator on the weekly YEP column as and when appropriate.
• Support other board members on the communication plan of key projects and help to create content for relevant channels – including a plan for external messaging and opportunities.
• Act as a ‘brand guardian’ ensuring consistency across communication activities and channels.
• Work closely with the Media Liaison Board Member to communicate any statements or press releases on our channels. Support as back up in media interviews/podcasts etc.
• Support with the Trusts social media accounts, working closely with the current social media owner to understand tone of voice and fan dialogue, picking up issues that arise on social and directing them to the appropriate Board Member.
• Work with Supporter Liaison to create an information hub for fans and members, such as match day activities, away day travel and information etc.
• Submit external content to newsletters or matchday programmes etc.
• Look for opportunities to push out Trust messages, such as blogs, podcasts and newsletters.
Expectations
• Board Members will be asked to sign an NDA, Social Media Policy and adhere to the Trust code of practice when joining the board.
• This role will require approximately 20 hours per month
• It’s required that you attend a minimum of 8 monthly board meetings on a yearly basis & contribute to the discussions and decisions. (Some Face to Face / some zoom dependant on location)
• Contribute to subcommittees & advisory groups where appropriate.
• Support the wider team and participate in tasks and events as required over & above management committee meetings.
• Contribute to all Trust publications & reports as necessary.
• Respect the opinions of other board members and have a balanced view on issues. We are representatives or our members.
• To declare any conflicts of interest as soon as they are known.
• Excellent writing skills with experience editing, with attention to detail and communication experience.
• Ideally being able to use mail chimp to communicate to members. But training can be provided.
Role 3 - Board Role – Website Content
The board role of website content is to plan and lead a steam of relevant and engaging content for the Trusts website.
The Role
• To create original and bespoke content for the Trust website, including blogs, articles and interviews.
• Create a yearly plan of content to support Trust objectives that’s aligned with the communications plan, working closely with the communications manager on execution.
• Ensuring a regular flow of content that’s engaging and different from other sites.
• Support with interviews of our Honorary Members and relevant people.
• Create and ensure features are topical, interesting and informative, which would also drive new members.
• Engage different guest writers to contribute exclusive content on a variety of topics.
• Support the Infrastructure Board Member on uploading content for the website. Training will be provided.
• Act as a ‘brand guardian’ ensuring consistency across communication activities and channels.
Expectations
• Board Members will be asked to sign an NDA, Social Media Policy and adhere to the Trust code of practice on being elected.
• This role will require approximately 20 hours per month
• It’s required that you attend a minimum of 8 monthly board meetings on a yearly basis & contribute to the discussions and decisions. (Some Face to Face / some zoom dependant on location)
• Contribute to subcommittees & advisory groups where appropriate.
• Support the wider team and participate in tasks and events as required over & above management meetings.
• Respect the opinions of other board members and have a balanced view on issues. We are representatives or our members.
• Contribute to all Trust publications & reports as necessary.
• To declare any conflicts of interest as soon as they are known.
• Excellent writing skills with experience of editing, with attention to detail.
• Rewriting, editing, proof reading and subbing copy that’s ready to go.
• Can write in depth features with a strong narrative tone, able to tell a story and give an extensive insight into a person, event or issue etc
• Good knowledge of the club and its history.
Role 4 - Board Role – Membership Benefits Manager
The role of Membership Benefits Manager is to identify and create a wide range of enticing benefits that brings value to those who are members of the Leeds United Supporters’ Trust.
Creating, maintaining relationships with partners, and evaluating, recommending, and administering the benefits.
The Role
• To create a wide range of membership discounts and benefits that drive reasons to sign up and to retain existing members.
• Develop and manage partner relationships so they provide mutual benefit.
• Proactively seek benefit opportunities
• Create a plan to showcase our partners across our large following on social channels and key touchpoints
• Look at opportunities to make our benefits relevant to international members – travel, hotels, car parking etc.
• Works closely with our Membership Manager to create a programme of membership drives at key moments.
• Manage the Trust merchandise range and supplier.
• Act as primary contact for membership partner enquiries.
• Provide a regular update at monthly board meetings.
• Look at evaluation on benefits that we can share back with the partner and would entice new ones.

• This role will require approximately 20 hours per month
