Answering your queries following membership launch for 2022/23

We know many of you have concerns about the club’s membership launch for the 2022/23 season.

We received a lot of correspondence once membership details were released so put the key points you raised to officials at Elland Road.

Many of you felt the £75/£50 yearly membership was expensive compared to other Premier League teams (it appears our prices are top of the table!) and constituted a hefty increase on last year. The club say prices have not gone up and are as per the current season. They point out they gave a £10 discount for 2021/22 renewals to compensate for the previous covid-affected season.

You were also frustrated at an apparent lack of visibility around the season ticket waiting list; we asked for clarity and if any fan has been offered a season pass from the list.

The club say they will be processing season ticket seat move requests once the current league campaign has finished as well as processing season tickets for existing personal assistants who accompany disabled supporters. They can then start work on the season ticket waiting list. 

They will start at the top of the list and work down in strict order of receipt that supporters joined but say they don’t have visibility of queue position. They hope this may be addressed with the new ticketing system. 

They advise that any supporter on the waiting list who gets a season ticket will have their 2022/23 membership fee refunded. 

We raised a number of other points with the club. These included: 

  • How many season tickets should become available this season?

  • Where have the 10% extra seats / tickets that have become available for members come from?

  • How many supporters have 10-year loyalty on memberships as some of you feel that 10 years is too long? 

  • Why wasn’t it possible to lift and shift current friends and family to the new platform. It seems to have taken members hours to work it all out and re-add people and then an email request.

  • Is there an opportunity to look at family membership packages?

We will continue to talk to the club on your behalf and will press for more answers on memberships. We will also keep challenging on the season ticket waiting list until we have a suitable response.
