Trust Update On Matchday Ticket Ballot Changes

Following our recent member survey, in which 63 per cent of respondents indicated they were opposed to the introduction of a full ballot system for home tickets, we shared that feedback with the club alongside other supporter groups as part of the consultation process.

The club has now confirmed its ticketing arrangements for the coming season. They feel it is a fair system based on overall fan feedback although their final approach differs from the preference expressed by a majority of Trust members. We note that the club has amended its original proposal by introducing an attendance-based priority in phase 2 to recognise loyalty for supporters who attended 11 or more games last season.

We recognise this as a change from the original proposal and an acknowledgement of the importance many supporters place on loyalty and regular attendance.

We are also aware that many supporters' comments highlighted the importance of preserving the unique atmosphere at Elland Road, particularly during a season when stadium capacity is likely to be reduced due to the ongoing redevelopment works.

While the impact of the new ticketing arrangements will only become clear over time, we hope that the passion, support and sense of community that have long defined matchdays at Elland Road will continue to be reflected throughout the ground.

We know some supporters will be disappointed by the changes, with members telling us they had purchased MyLeeds memberships on the basis of the previous ticketing arrangements. Some are concerned that the revised system alters the overall value proposition of memberships.

Views on ticketing will inevitably differ; the Trust's role is to ensure supporters' views are heard, and we are grateful to everyone who took the time to share their feedback. We will continue to engage constructively with the club and relay supporters' experiences of the new system throughout the season.
